Need techie help, heat source

    This video was brought to my attention, it is about a heater that runs off a small motor and creates heat by friction, could someone that knows about this stuff please comment?

    I did some follow up and found this article, it appears that the device creates more heat energy than it requires electrical energy, but due to inefficiency of converting steam into electricity it is not going to be a perpetual sort of machine any time soon.  Regardless, looks like an interesting way to create heat.
