In the current daily release of FreeCad eventually leading to v0.14 there is a preliminary working version of the Assembly module. Under this link a description how to compile the source code and how to use the assembly module is given.

This is an important step for the FreeCad project because the integration of the assembly module makes FreeCad for the first time practically useful for productive work dealing with more than one part.

The OSE project could benefit a lot from this step. It can be expected that after v0.14 FreeCad could become the standard CAD and it is advisable that OSE prepares itself for it. It might be worthwhile to call OSE and FreeCad enthusiasts to convert the Sketchup data into FreeCad.
